DIY Doll Unicorn Sleep Mask
Do you use an eye mask when you sleep? We do! My girls have different ones that they like to use like a panda, a llama, a cat and of course a unicorn. Sometimes they use them as blindfolds when they play games and make up challenges. We thought it would be fun to make a few for our dolls that matched their pajamas, room themes and/or bedding. Coordinating doll items is so much fun. Unicorns are really popular so that’s the one we crafted on camera! You can always use the same idea and make different variations. I created the mask template from scratch, just sketching out the outline on the felt. If you have any doll eye masks on hand you can trace them and create your own template to use over and over again! If not, sketch your own on a piece of paper with a pencil and adjust until you like the shape and size. You can fold the paper in half, sketch the eye mask, then cut while the paper is still folded. This will ensure that both sides are the same.
You may notice that in this video I did not do a voiceover. You will be seeing a lot more DIY videos without me talking in them. Don’t worry! The videos I make always show the steps and if you are ever unsure of a step or material that I used, please come here to the blog. If you read the post you will most likely find the answer to your question. If not, leave a comment!
- Glitter Canvas *optional
- You can find this at Hobby Lobby or Michaels with the cut felt. Hobby Lobby has a larger variety
- Puffy Paint *optional
- I show two unicorn masks in the video. One set of sleep eyes was done with puffy paint, the other I cut from felt. I like the felt look a tad more, but it is a little more difficult because you are cutting a tiny piece of felt.
- Tip: If you don’t have elastic on hand or don’t want to buy any, start saving the elastics from packages. Most shoes and flip flops come with an elastic band holding them together. Instead of clipping it and tossing it, untie and save for a future craft!
