American Girl Side Table

I do a lot of projects with wood, and with that comes a lot of scraps!  I thought it would be fun to make something just using the scraps I had on hand.  In this tutorial you will learn how to make an American Girl Side Table for an 18″ doll.

Shopping list:

1 – 1×2 @ 8 feet

1 – Scrap Plywood or MDF – 3/4″ x 5’’ x 5’’

Wood Glue

18 Gauge 1 1/4’’ nails

18 Gauge 2’’ nails

Cut List:

4 – 1×2 @ 6 1/4’’ — Legs

4 – 1×2 @ 2 3/4″ — Bottom Support

1 – Scrap 3/4’’ Plywood or MDF @ 5’’ x 5’’

Tools:

Tape Measure

18 Gauge Nailer

Miter Saw or Circular Saw

Hearing Protection

Safety Glasses

Pencil

Step 1:

Attach each leg as shown in the diagram below.   Use glue and 1 1/4″ nails.

Step 2:

This step is optional.  However, it does make the table very strong.

Now that the legs are attached to the top, attach the bottom supports.  Use the nails that are given in the diagram below.

That was easy!
