Is anyone tired of the baking themed crafts yet?  Confession…..I’M NOT!  This is so much fun.  I know I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again, but having Grace is like having a little slice of heaven in our home!  We love her!  And we love having endless crafts/activities to do together.  When I say we, I am referring to all my children.  We are a crafty family, I found that out a long time ago.  The tv never did interest them, but paint, crayons, scissors, glue, etc. keeps them in a happy state for a long time.  If ever one of my children gets grumpy, it’s time to head to the park for some exercise or bust out the craft bins! And trust me, we have some craft bins!

Anyways, enough with the rant and back to Grace Thomas and the whole baking atmosphere.  If you haven’t gotten any of her collection yet, do not worry, you can replicate most of it!    This idea actually came from my six year old daughter and it started with her Chick Fil A breakfast one morning.  She got one of those mini Simply Orange Juice bottles and when she went to through out the trash she kept the bottle.  “Mommy, can we use this for anything?” is what she asked.  We tend to do that in my family before we throw anything out.  My husband did it just this morning with a shoe box!  Needless to say that the shoe box is sitting right next to me as I type. Back to the orange juice.  We opened the lid and played around with ideas until she decided that a cake stand would be perfect.  I totally agreed with her and instead of juts making one, we went on a hunt around the kitchen to see we could make several of different shapes and sizes!  And boy did we hit the jackpot!

Materials Needed

  1. Lids (candle lid, juice lid, jar lid, ramekin lid, anything!)
  2. Hot Glue
  3. Beads
  4. Scrap Book Paper
  5. Scissors
  6. Dollar Store Shot Glasses
  7. Paint
  8. Any other random things you think will work!

For the first stand we made I used a bubbles lid, tiny white beads, a button, and hot glue.  See how I made it through the pictures.

For the next one I used mini wooden spools, paint, hot glue, scrap book paper (doily) and my daughters Simply Orange Juice bottle cap!

The next one is my favorite.  I used paint, shot glasses, hot glue, pony beads, scrap book paper, and a take out ramekin that held ranch dressing!  Yay it was still in the fridge.  I love that it makes for a complete cake stand with a lid.

Alright! Okay this craft is original.(FYI) They are REAL WORKING AG HEADPHONES!!:) ? This is a really easy craft! All you need are scissors, tape, a doll(of course;)), un-used or old earbuds and LEGOS!!! Start by building the frame around the dolls head. Use whatever pieces you want. Once you have the frame, go down on each sides with more pieces until you get to the ears. Build the round (or whatever shape) to form the ears of the headphones. Tape the pieces together of the entire thing if the are too loose or flimsy(you could always glue them if you want). Now, ♫BEST PART!♫ Tape your earbuds to the inside of the ears of your headphones… plug them into a mp3(or whatever) and play music! You can actually hear the music playing!!!!

Thanks for reading and if you make a video about it just let me know!! ?

Wow that is indeed so creative! My favorite too is the one made with the shot glasses. And I love the fact that it does have the clear lid.

Great ideas; like always on your blogs. Just love your way on finding just the right objects.
Since I have started to read your blog, when I am out in stores, everything I look at is in my mind finding a purpose to make something for dolls.

The cakes and cupcakes are from various sources. Erasers from Party city (under $1) Our Generation sets, AG sets, and Target One Spot!
