DIY American Girl Valentine’s Day Candy

After making the jelly beans for the Bean Boozled game, we knew we had to make chocolates for our Valentine’s Day scene using the same method! We are setting up a cute Valentine’s Day scene and we can’t wait to share it with you. There are a few more printables to come. If you have any requests, be sure to leave a comment below!

Materials Needed:

  1. Whitman’s candy box printables
  2. Scissors
  3. Paperboard
  4. Glue
  5. Hot Glue
  6. Craft Paint

TIPS:

  • In the video I used white glue to glue on the card stock strips since you have to glue so close to your fingers. However, I prefer the hot glue since it dries faster and hardens.
  • Using the paperboard is perfect to make the candy boxes.  However, if you want to get a little fancier, you can use the Martha Stewart foil stickers from Michaels. They are so cute and perfect for this craft.
  • My friend Maria made her chocolates by using play doh molds!  Such a great idea and they turned out so cute!  Just make sure you grease the molds before you stick the hot glue in. Check out the play doh molds Colorful Candy Box and Cupcake Tower.

Watch and tell us what your favorite Valentine’s Day Candy is!

Adorable! My favorite chocolates have a minty filling. Do you think that you could make the blender from Lea’s fruits stand? That would be cool.

Super Cute! Maybe you could make Maryellen’s swing from the books or maybe her rollerskates.
