American Girl Console Table

I made this console table because it’s a nice piece of furniture and it’s very simple to make.  You can use it in the bedroom like a dresser, or in the living room with a t.v. over it.  Be creative, I’m sure there are other ways to use this.  Maybe as a bookshelf too?

Shopping list:

1 – 1×2 @ 8 feet (Only need 36’’ total)

1 – 1×3 @ 8 feet (Only need 8’’ total)

1 – 1/4’’ plywood or MDF – I used scrap MDF.  The 1/4’’ sheets are usually 2’ x 4’.

Wood Glue

18 Gauge 1 1/4’’ nails

Fast’N Final Spackling

Cut List:

4 – 1×2 @ 7 3/4’’ — Legs

1 – 1×3 @ 8’’ — Top

2 – Scrap 1/4’’ Plywood or MDF @ 1 1/2’’ x 8’’

Tools:

Tape Measure

18 Gauge Nailer

Miter Saw or Circular Saw

Hearing Protection

Safety Glasses

Pencil

Sander

Paint

Step 1:

Dado each leg using a table saw.  The table saw needs to be raised 1/4″.  Make sure you use the dimensions below for each leg so the table and shelves are even.

Step 2:

Attach the top to the legs by nailing each one in place.  I used a nail going through the top of the table through to the legs and then used spackle to cover up the holes.

Step 3:

Slide shelves into place.  You do not have to nail these or glue these.  Easy!
