How to Make a Doll Toilet

How to Make a Doll Toilet

American Girl finally gave us a toilet in Julie’s Groovy Bathroom set. However, it is totally 70’s theme. It’s adorable, but since the colors are so out there and the toilet doesn’t come as a separate piece option, we had to craft it. This way if you want more modern colors in your doll bathroom, you can just make it! Also, some of the requests gave us the challenge to craft the toilet only using recyclables. So, we did not buy anything for this craft and we only used what we had on hand. It is a unique shape, so this craft may be on the more advance crafter level. Please use supervision when cutting plastic and using hot glue.

Materials Needed:

  • Take Out Cup
  • Dish Soap Bottle
  • Plastic Easter Egg *Opens long ways
  • Nesquick Box or Similar (ex. Cocoa Powder or Bandaids Tin)
  • Craft Foam
  • Scrap Foam Board *Optional
  • Spray Paint
  • Hot Glue

Watch and tell us what other bathroom items your doll needs!

You should make a sink. I saw it in the photo for the toilet, so I’m guessing you are working on the video.

Your presentation was great! I have three grand daughters and they will enjoy making their own toilet for their own dolls. Gathering the supplies is going to soooooo much fun, they will wonder what I am up to.

I said it on IG, but I’ll say it again here. This is genius! I love how you even Incorporated the curvy back part of the toilet for the pipes. The details are so great! I’ll bet they’ll be a run on those plastic eggs now. Thank you!
