How to Make American Girl Lunchables

How to Make American Girl Lunchables

This craft has been requested over a few dozen times.  I will admit, we are not into lunchables, but I finally gave in.  I am so happy that you guys kept pushing me on this craft.  I LOVE how it turned out.  Super cute!  Doll food is just adorable, don’t you think?  I feel like the Capri Suns went hand in hand with the lunchables.  Even though they don’t fit in the lunchables pack, they look like they are meant for each other.  Maybe in the future we will make a printable for the box, but for now they will just have to be put in the lunch boxes or on grocery shelves sold as singles.  They would also make great additions to any ice cooler you already have!  Or serve them at the doll birthday parties!

Materials Needed:

  1. American Girl Lunchables Printables
  2. Scissors
  3. Tape
  4. Glue
  5. Craft Foam *Assorted Colors
  6. Condiment Containers *Rectangle or Square
  7. Mini Straws or Toothpicks
  8. Tissue or Cottonball

TIPS:

  • If your condiment containers are a different size than the printables, don’t worry.  You can cover them in plastic or yellow paper first and then glue the printable on top.
  • If you want your dolls to be able to open them later, use hot glue.  The glue will stick to the paper and peel from the plastic. Then after playtime you can glue back on again!
  • If you don’t have a printer, you can always cut out images from a grocery ad!

I make and sell handmade polymer clay food and have been wanting to sell a lunchable set. I was curious if I could sell it in a container with this printable? I would only charge for the food that I make and I would be sure to make it clear that the printable is free. I would also leave a link to this page. Would this be ok?

At dollar tree I found some mini square Tupperware, I’m going to paint the lids yellow and glue on the lunchabes printables, that way it can be used over and over again. I also found foil paper there too for making the juice boxes. Super excited to make this with my child!

@C. My family does not eat fast food either, so I took an Applesauce cup, put it upside down on Yellow Paper, traced it, and glued the printable onto my circle. After all that, just continue the video instructions. Hope this helps! ?

Some cue tips have holes in them if you take off the fluff. So it makes a good straw! Thanks for the idea! ( :

I love this, but the CapriSun is a little too big. Maybe make the printable a little bigger and the foil a little smaller?
