How to make American Girl Hot Cocoa Stand

It’s the season for hot cocoa!  Watch our new video to learn how we made an American Girl Hot Cocoa Stand with all the fixins!  This tutorial can really be used for any stand your dolls need like lemonade, ice cream, bake sale, etc.  It’s fun because all you have to do is change the color paint you use and you have a new theme!  This doll craft turned out perfect and we love it! We were going for a chocolate and peppermint color scheme.    We can’t wait to see your dolls hot cocoa stand so be sure to tag us when you share it!

Materials Needed:

  • Shoebox
  • Recycled Paperboard
  • Glue Stick
  • Craft Paint
  • Scissors
  • Craft Foam
  • Hot Glue
  • Mod Podge or Glue
  • Empty Clear Container *I used an empty glitter container
  • Empty Glue Stick & Lids
  • Buttons & Beads
  • Hot Cocoa Stand Printable

Watch and tell us what your dolls would like to add to the “fixins”!

The one we used came from Michael’s. You can also use a large baby food jar! Someone else used that and it turned out adorable!

I love this! I don’t have the right beads either, or white, red, or brown paint, but my mom just told me we’re going to Michael’s, so I guess soon I will have them! I can’t wait to make this! Love the crafts Rudy! BTW where did you get the skis? They are adorable!

Brenda:They are Commuinion Cups. You can get them at a Christian Bookstore, but I get mine from the Church my family and I go to. Hope this helps! ~Olivia Wilson ?

Can you tell me where you got the containers for the marshmellows, peppermints etc.

Yay! I finished mine! (It looks awful?)

The toppings my dolls have are: Peppermint sticks, Peppermint candies, Marshmallows, Candy(from your “Concession Candy” video), and Oreos. We also made Cinnamon sticks, but they didn’t turn out and didn’t look quite right. I want to make the Whipped Cream and the Hot Cocoa dispenser, but I don’t have the right kind of beads. I only have Seed/Pony beads. Any suggestions for a substitute? Please let me know. Thanks! ~Olivia Wilson

I am almost done with mine! I just need to let the paint finish drying, glue it together, and, of course, add all the yummy Hot Cocoa and toppings to complete the scene!
