DIY American Girl Hot Dogs

DIY American Girl Hot Dogs

Grilling season is almost here so our dolls need to stock up on supplies. A package of hot dogs is perfect for those backyard barbecues! These actually open so you can take out what you need and seal the package back up when you’re done. Maybe next we will make some grilled hot dogs, buns, ketchup and mustard! What else do we need to complete a grill out?

Be sure to check out our DIY Grill HERE: American Girl Grill

Materials Needed:

TIPS-

  • We printed on glossy photo paper and peeled the top layer off to it would wrap around the wieners easier.
  • If you don’t have small zip lock bags you can use regular sized ones and apply the same method.
  • If you use air dry clay like we did, you have to let the clay dry! Give it the full amount of time. Otherwise, the hotdogs will stick together and squish in the bag. Then you have to reshape them and they fall limp when you pull them out to play with.

Watch and tell us if you think we should grill them!

Hi Rudy. How high do you set the iron for the parchment paper? Also, did your Model Magic have a color name? Mine seems too dark. It is Earthtone.

Adele, yes it is air dry. It takes about a day to dry completely.

Adele I have a diy clay recipe
    You will need:

    1. And type of hair conditioner
    2. Corn starch or flour
    3. A tiny bit of paint or food coloring
    4. A popsicle stick (or any stirring tool)

Take your cornstarch or flour and add desired amount into a bowl. Then add your hair conditioner little bits at a time and stir it up. Repeat that process until you get a clay like texture. At paint or food coloring until you have the color you want. And then you have your clay!

I love this! Maybe next you could make burgers? Also, it might be hard and I understand if you can’t do it but could you try doing them without clay? I don’t have easy access to it, so… Or is there a type of homemade clay I could make? Thanks!
