DIY American Girl Doll Paper Plates ~ 4th of July

We have made several types of plates so far for our dolls that are simple and easy. You can check out our plates from canning lids and our paper plates from recycled paperboard with printables. This is a new way to make them and Mimi N Dooze shared the idea with us! They also sent us some yummy firecracker fruit sticks for our dolls to enjoy at the 4th of July get-together. We can’t wait to set up our scene with them!

Materials Needed:

  • Paper Plates of Choice
  • Canning Lids
  • Clay Ball Tool

TIPS:

  • Canning lids do work best to get the shape of a paper plate. However, if you do not have any, you can see what other lids you have in the house. Jelly lid, mustard jar lid, salsa lid, etc. These tend to have a good shape to form a paper plate for the dolls!
  • If you do not have a clay ball tool, you can use something else with a similar shaper. Or, you can just use your fingernails.
  • If you don’t want to buy paper plates for this craft, wait until a party and then recycle ones that would otherwise be thrown out!

Cool!!! Love it!!! You make such nice and creative crafts. Your crafts have got me it the spirit of The Forth of July. You can come see my blog about dolls at: http://www.dollnotebook.com/blogs/. I’ll have to do some Forth of July stuff too.
