American Girl Dolls on the Beach

A few days ago we introduced Disney Princess Moana and we set her up in a beautiful scene on the beach. We received so many questions about how we set up the dolls on the beach, were there a lot of people watching, did people ask you what you were doing, etc. So, we wanted to share a few behind the scenes clips for that day and pictures. We put it all together in a video that you watch below. In some of the pictures you can see people looking at it as they walked the beach. We had many people walk up and around the set up just so they could take a look. Some people said how cool it was and that other people they knew, daughters, friends, would be jealous they missed seeing it! Overall, it was a really fun time and we had a blast setting up the scene, taking pictures and just hanging out on the beach!

Watch and tell us your favorite place to set up a doll scene!

Can you make the surf boards? I tried to make them yesterday but they were way to small.

Love the Scenes. Where did you get the surf boards?

They came from a printing company. They were used in trade shows.

How fun! I think it’s great to show a behind the scenes view of this. I recently took one of my dolls to Mexico and I got my share of strange looks, but it was all worth it when a little girl who didn’t speak English tried to talk to me-and recognized Cassandra as an American Girl doll!

So helpful! I really struggle with doing what I love without feeling awkward or embarrassed: Photography. Specifically doll Photography. So whenever I feeli like taking pictures of my dolls in our front yard I decide not to, because I feel like people are going to look at me weirdly or even laugh. I really need to stop worrying about what others think, and just go with it. Hey, speaking of photography, do you recommend the Canon EOS Rebel T5i? I know that’s the one you have, and I was wondering if you’re happy with it. I think I’m going to get the T5, but I have a feeling that the T5i might be better.
